Mouse and keyboard for consoles...

Never tried it...actually never even knew it existed.

And damn $50+ for it? I already am used to using a controller for FPS gaming, but even if I weren't, I'd rather save that money and just learn to use a controller.
 
You're better off playing PC games I think.
Console games are probably made to make up for the controllers limitations, so the keyboard and mouse would feel all funky compared to how you're used to on the computer.
Just learn the controller, being able to lie down and play is one of videogamings' greatest innovations.

No. The XIM 3 isn't out yet, but the XIM 2 was and it apparently worked very well. The XIM 3 is supposed to be even better, cheaper, and no need to be attached to a computer (unlike XIM 2). I would wait for it. All the other adapters are nowhere near as good.

No clue. The Xim 2 was about $150 iirc. The Xim 3 will be cheaper.

Don't know about you, but my 360 already has two USB ports on the front. And keyboards already work in there. All it needs is a standard USB mouse driver and support in games. . . but Microsoft didn't want the original XBox to be thought of as a PC in a box, so we're stuck with things the way they are.
 
Ive had my 360 for 2 years this month. When I first go it, I HATED not having my mouse and keyboard,.. hated it! Now, I honestly don't know if I could go back to the mouse and keyboard. After you get used to it, its not that bad. I still don't think its as accurate, at least Im not as good with a controller then my Mx518 mouse and Zboard Merc, but then again I haven't used them for gaming in 2 years now.
 
I used the Xim 2 and it was indeed very nice. The Xim3 promises to be even better, so if you want the keyboard/mouse control on your console, it's really the only option to consider.

you'd think I was having a seizure while playing the console because my aim is all over the place.

thats funny. i can play other games that don't require fine controls like FPS games just fine. so i shouldn't own a console because i can't play FPS games with a controller?

Why do you think Microsoft doesn't integrates XBOX LIVE and Windows LIVE games? They tested it and people on PCs with a mouse and keyboard OWNED the console players...

Consoles have TONS of great titles but for FPS, they don't COMPARE to a PC...

You definitely shouldn't bitch about it. You knew what you were getting into when you bought a console, so buying it and then complaining about not having something you KNEW it didn't have is a special kind of stupid. It'd be the same if I bitched about my 360 not having a blu-ray drive. If that was important to me then why did I buy it? If keyboard and mouse controls were a concern, why would you buy a console?
