mounting hard drive in frame-- where to put thermocouple?

I'm throwing some hard drives into hot-swap sleds, and the sleds have thermocouples attached to them. What to I place that against on the hard drive? On the side of the drive is a metallic circular patch that looks like a possibility, does anyone know?

It's one of the seagate barracuda 180 gig 68 pin hard drives, though I expect they're just about the same.

Assume you are referring to mobile racks with heat sensors? If so, put the sensor where the drive is hottest - like the top metal area. I don't know of any mobile racks, IDE or SCSI, that are hot swappable. They have to be in, locked and loaded at POST to be seen.
