Just got a new Digital Camera (Nikon L100), and needed to get a memory card for it.
2GB would be ideal, more is always better.

I just took a look at Best Buy and was pretty much floored by the sheer amount of different cards they have.
I do understand the speed class ratings, but some seem to make up their own ratings.... Like 133x, etc.

So, in a nutshell, I don't want a crappy slow card. I'd like something that is relatively quick, not very expensive, and at least 2GB.
What should I be looking at?

Always see if you can go to the manufacture site of the card and see if they give
you read and write speeds. Comapre them to other cards. Faster read and faster write speeds equal faster performance!

Also I like to go to NewEgg.com and read user reviews before buying. That way I have
a better chance of not getting a low performer. Or a peice of junk.

Newegg is your friend. 8gb SDHC, Class 6, ~$17 shipped from several companies. I'd stick to cards that state Class 6 specifically.

The faster the card the faster it writes the data to the card..

This means you dont have to wait as long in bewteen shots..
If your shooting hi res. photos you would have to wait longer than low res...

Thanks for the tips.

I was looking at Best Buy to get one TODAY, but man, I looked on newegg and the same exact card is literally $48 cheaper on newegg.

Looks like I might wait to have it shipped... haha...
I'll stick with a class 6 too.

I just tend to go by NewEgg ratings. Seems like in general Patriot and Kingston have some pretty good flash products for the price. Sandisk and PNY are very high quality, but kind of expensive.
