I'm just a bit clueless to why this company is doing so poorly and loosing money. Werent the motorolla razr's the #1 phone for a good amount of time. Did they have poor quality or was there a lack of innovation in the last few years?. I know stock prices have tanked, 40-60% but this stock was almsot down 90% in the last 2 years.

razr is a shitty ass phone that they tried to squeeze the blood out of. razr 2.0? razr 3.0? black? blue? green? its the shame shitty ass phone!

reports on www.glassdoor.com show terrible employee morale, overbloated incompetent middle management chain, etc etc. unhealthy company = unhealthy financials

Have you ever had a motorola phone? They're terribly made. It seems as if it's a symptom of a larger problem.

I owned a few. They are good at radios. They all were superior in reception and call clarity.

Investing in technology:

Technology like cell phones and computers evolve very quickly. There is no way to predict the future with certainty because of the quickly evolving nature of cell phone tech. In 10 years will cell phones as we know it still be around. Will they still use the microwave band? Will satellite phones take over? Will phone companies or cable companies come up with some other wireless IP based tech? I don't know. Do you think 20 years ago you thought people today would sometime have something other than a land line? Probably not.

Investing in tech is a crap shoot. There is no way to reliably make money by investing in tech. Anyone that thinks they know better do not.

I tell you what though. I can tell you that there is no reason at all to think that trains will not be around 20 years from now or 100 years from now.

Here is reliable returns:

For the record, Buffett is buying BNI big time. I can not understand why he thinks BNI is worth $100+ (he is probably paying 25%+ under intrinsic value). I can understand $40 for BNI. Just not $80.
