Motorola RAZR V3 Cingular Cell Phone $189.99 AR, Huge Price Drop

One thing that's really stupid about Amazon and cell phones is, even though I can get Cingular in my area, and in fact can go down the street to a Cingular store and buy the V3 Razr, Amazon says "sorry, this phone/plan is not available in your area" so you can't buy it unless you buy just the phone, in which case you won't get any of the rebates.

Wow, it is coming down fast. Looks like people are not buying it, or it has some problems.

Naw. These things were just over-priced to begin with. They got away charging way over cost because of the "cool" look.

If you see the phone in person, it's not nearly as cool as it looks in an ad. Although much slimmer than a normal phone, It's also much wider. It's not a particularly stylish phone at all.

I know a guy who used to work for Motorola, and he told me that their own engineers wouldn't recommend using a Motorola phone. And he said that the RAZR was particularly bad. I can't remember the exact details, but I believe most of it was poor design (UI, etc.), and maybe lower quality parts. Either way, I'm planning on staying away from Motorola phones unless they're free w/o activation (i.e. a gift).

Both my friend and my cousin have both received this phone for free with one year sign up (with T-Mobile) at a local "hole in the wall" cell phone shop. Phone is not that great in person, I think it's about the equivalent of a V600...just thinner, but also wider. If you want to know exactly where this was it was PM me, the store is in Rowland Heights, CA.

And by the way I've had a Motorola phone for almost a year now and it's a great phone. V400, I've hacked it a bit and it's great.

agreed

the phone was hyped up. now i just think its a waste of money. if you want a nice phone with bluetooth, mp3 player, camera, color... etc just get a Nokia 6230. Its only -50 bucks from amazon after rebates. Nokia is much more solid than motorola imho
