Motorola Droid shutting down randomly...

Over the last couple weeks my Droid has shutdown randomly 4 times. One time i was talking on the phone and it just shutoff with no warning. I thought it was the battery, but i powered back on and it was half-charged. I do not have a lot of apps installed (maybe 10 or so), but i have not installed any in the last 4 weeks. Any suggestions?

Rooted? When I was on Simply Stunning, mine randomly shutoff a few times. Had not done that with any other rom.

never had mine do that, however i did have it randomly reboot running CM6 RC3 a few time

Is it overheating? I'm pretty sure that is the cause of my Incredible's reboots.

No root, and it cant be overheating since it has happened 3 times while just carrying it around in my backpack (i use the powerstrip and have wifi, bluetooth, & gps off). It does a long vibrate, then when i dig it out its off. I lost a text message when it did this last night. I was talking to a friend and got a text, ignored it, then the phone shutoff. I still have no idea who texted me...

Try backing up all your info and doing a factory reset. It sounds like something is "stuck". Reset that bad boy and see if that helps.

Good idea. My droid this the twice in its life and a f-rest cleared it up. Still never found the cause tho.
