I'm sure it'll have a locked boot loader though. 🙁 Also looks to be running some kind of revised Blur overlay? Definitely not vanilla 2.2. Very high end specs, but with a locked boot loader, my interest really sours.

Things are getting real with Motorola -- it's just announced the LTE-equipped Droid Bionic which, like the Xoom tablet introduced alongside it, will be headed to Verizon. The phone packs a dual-core processor with each core humming along at 1GHz, a 4.3-inch QHD screen, 512MB of RAM, a front-facing VGA camera, an 8-megapixel on the rear, HDMI out, and a Mirror Mode that will let you do simultaneous streaming of video to the TV and on the device. Wasn't the locked bootloader some part of the TI OMAP processor's security feature that Moto used? Will have to see if Tegra 2's have similar "features".
 
Holy fuck. I love CES. That thing is beautiful. First Tegra 2 Verizon LTE phone announced and I already want it. Hope Verizon has something even sexier later this week!

The Motorola presentation said 512 MB, the website says 1GB. I'm kind of inclined to believe that 512 MB is correct, since the LTE hardware is larger than w/e the fuck AT&T's 4G is called. Either way, hot.

Moto's site apparently be updated to 512MB. But the phone won't come out for half a year, so might be upgraded before then. Kinda dumb for Moto/Verizon to announce this bad boy now and then not ship it for months. Anyone who buys a Droid 2/X right now is an idiot. 😛

This is true. It just seems idiotic to announce a product with specs like that and not ship for 6 months. Now every one knows whats coming and your sales of your existing products should tank while everyone waits for the Bionic.

Yup that really sucks. Guess the phone hasn't been going so well in development.

There's not a lot of details on this one, but the Wall Street Journal has just confirmed with Motorola that the launch of the Droid Bionic will be delayed until summer, and that it might not be available for purchase until sometime in the third quarter (or late summer, in other words). As for the reason for the delay, a Motorola spokesperson would only say that the company is "incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience," based on feedback its received since the phone was announced way back at CES in January.

Fine by me. Contract aint up til November anyway.
With any luck 2.4 will be out by then. Support or not, I'll root and shoehorn it on.
