Does anyone know of a review site or a regular user who has done comparisons of the 2.2 to gingerbread update? I'm curious to know what the battery life is with gingerbread.

Not really the place for device specific questions like this - you want to go to XDA's Atrix forum where you will find more info than you will know what to do with.

Not a lot of solid information on XDA about battery life right now, a couple people have stated they are having very poor battery life, but most of the people who did the OTA update likely had to roll back to 1.26 before flashing(not to mention, most of the members rolled to a pudding build before the OTA even hit).

I have an OTA build phone here and have had it going for a couple of days. You will need to retrain your battery after updating, it's all messed up until you do. First day getting all my apps back and everything configured I only got a bit over 10 hours on a charge(that was with nigh constant useage and also before training). Right now I have 7 hours since unplugged sitting at 90% battery life with light useage. Seems comparable, maybe a bit better, then the 1.83 build. I have one of the launch phones which seem to have considerably better battery life then the newer ones for some reason(one of the guys that work for me picked one up and his battery is significantly weaker then the other three people that have the Atrix on my team, myself included).

Can you elaborate a bit more on how to "train" your battery?

I can't speak for the Atrix, but I recently upgraded my droid X from froyo to GB and I'm contantly losing my 3G signal (no 3g or 1x connection where I used to never lose it before) and my battery life is significantly worse. (inactive usage down from 1.5 days batt life to less than a day!!)

If your phone is working fine I'd wait until GB gets smoothed out. Moto was supposed to release a hot fix on the 23rd but i'm seeing nothing yet.

Train the battery, run it until it powers down(totally dead) then plug it in(don't power it up) and let it charge for ~12 hours. You should do this every once in a while anyway(once every few months or so) and particularly when you get a new phone, the move to 2.3.4 made it necessary on the Atrix, not sure if the same is true for the X, but it probably is worth a shot.
