Motorcycle riders (question)

I've ridden in leather riding gear for most of my life. My jacket has about had it and I'm looking for a replacement. I've seen a lot of information on Joe Rocket ballistic gear, it seems to be one of the most popular right now.

Anyone out there like Joe Rocket, or can you suggest a better brand?

If you're not trying to avoid leather, Vanson is hard to beat. I sold these leathers for many years, and I probably won't wear anything else. I never really liked nylon, and there's a reason that the race sanctioning bodies do not allow it's use.

It seems to be pretty well made stuff. I personally am a big fan of Vanson gear, but you will pay more for their stuff.

To be honest, I think most of the stuff you can get is plenty adequate for street use...mostly comes down to fit and ventilation IMO.

I have to agree - if you want a jacket that will last another 20 years, Vanson's a great way to go. High $$, but you get what you pay for. If you can, check out a local shop and try on a few different brands. Pretty much any jacket over $250-$350 is probably good enough. I personally have a 2 peice set of Spidi leathers, I use the jacket for street riding, and I have a codura type Ducati Performance for colder/wet weather.
