motorcycle ignition key problem

The key for my 81 Honda cm400 is really worn. So worn that it pops out and now the ignition is stuck in park because the key can't turn it correctly. In addition to going to a locksmith - does anyone have any suggestions? Can I contact Honda and ask for a lock model number or something?

How about taking it to the Honda dealership and seeing if they can hook you up.

first you can get it out of park without the bike's key, any key will do.. i regularly get ppl's bike off park if i notice they left it in park mode.

As for the key, you can have it rekeyed or get a new ignition unit from ebay and a set of new keys.

They arent that hard to replace. Or ask your honda dealer for help. They usually have a # stamped on the ignition cylinder module..but you got to take it off to get that #.
