Lemme see... Closed circuit w/ radar 198 mph
Once on an unnamed stretch of deserted interstate 185 (assuming a 5 to 7 percent speedo error or so)
Hate to disappoint anyone, but I rarely go ungodly fast. Have to have the right conditions. Been riding for a long time, and want to ride longer yet

Not really.. that's more of a "Standard" bike than a sportbike. "Crotch rocket" usually refers to the faster 600+ bikes with fairing and purty colors. >>



Its true my bike it isnt a "crotch rocket" but its riding position isnt a standard riding position, it leans to front. A standard is an upright position. On top teh bike is classified as a sports bike and not a standard. The standards are Honda NightHawk, Suzuki Bandit (not the S model), Enfield Bullet.. they are standards.

Anycase the classifications inst much to deal with.

Its true that when we think of crotch rockets or sports bike we think of lots of plastic. My bike is technically classified as a "Naked Sports Bike".. And so is the Honda 919 (otherwise known as the Honda Hornet).

Yours is still a sports street or naked sports bike. But it does border standard due to its upright riding position. It looks upright in the picture but you can tell me if it is or not.

My possible upgrade..

and yes its a sports bike, a naked sports bike.

I'm 5' 7" 140 lbs. My first bike was a 2000 Yamaha R6.


The R6 is really like for a 600cc bike. I was able to easily manuver the bike even though I was a newbie. However the power of the bike got me in some sticky situations at times. I definetly recommend taking the MSF course and starting out on a smaller bike so you have some experience under your belt.


My R6 was totaled when a soccer mom cut in front of me. I quit riding for a year and now I have a 2001 Honda CBR F4i.



I know alot of the smaller displacement bikes don't really look attractive. However your not going to look very attractive being roadkill either. I got some scars that will stay with me forever.

Lebowski, This is what it looks like I am getting a brand new one though.

I had two of those Cyberian, and they were great in a wierd kinda way! They are kinda slow, but a blast to ride especially around LA. It gets in and out, but it's not new enough that people want to steal it. The only thing you have to watch out for is the big end rod bearing on those. Out of 3 engines I worked on 2 were bad.
