My 4 year sub to Motor Trend is up this week and I can renew for $12 again. Car and Driver is also currently on sale for the same price. Which of the 2 magazines do you prefer?

Car and Driver

Chose it for the writing style, and absence of racing

I prefer Autoweek, currently have a subscription until 2044. Curious to see if they last that long, or if I do.

I don't believe I ever read autoweek and it doesn't have discount at this time. I think there might be ways to get it free though. I'm also curious if the magazine you prefer is because you grew up with it or not. I grew up with motor trend so that's why I originally bought the 4 year sub.

Never read motortrend or autoweek.

Road & Track or nothing!

They used to have real racing driving legends do the testing and writing.

Phil Hill was my favorite. The guy would write about a car, tell an anecdote about driving for its marque with Sterling Moss and everyone else.

Never liked car and driver.

Last one I read they gave a Honda type r negative mark in scoring for price and interior. You don't buy a car like that if you're concerned about those things and who cares, I'm not paying sticker ever, tell me how it handles and keep your rubric lol.

Imo, take for what it's worth

Yeah I do not really do Magazines, I usually stick to Edmunds.com. But between those two, I would lean Car and Driver since I am just a consumer.

I don't really read either anymore, but I find myself hitting more motortrend articles in online searches than C&D. I'd rather have PDF versions anyways these days. Searchable, hyperlinks within the magazine, etc. No more dead tree media for me.

i guess for me, I live in los angeles, and motortrend's office is down here... so their reviews tend to be more relevant. I also think car and driver either beats on cars, or has irrationally low 0-60 times as they always seem to have the lowest times, so I don't quite trust them as much.

I like whichever has best cinematography that also stars Clarkson, Hammond, and May.

CARtoons.

...I think I once had a sub for that for ~3 or 4 years, lol. Then Road & Track and Car & Driver. But that was way back when the F50 was the newest, hottest, most amazing thing ever created with a road-going motor.

I find that the auto magazines normalize excess (for my budget anyway). Cars that used to seem expensive (because they are expensive) don't seem so bad when one reads about luxury cars month after month.

I'm about to renew C&D for $10. I can give away a free subscription or two as well.

Car & Driver for me. I've had a sub to Motor Trend, R&T, and C&D before and I always enjoyed C&D the most. Great technical articles and a lot of fun cars.
