Moto G5+ SE good first smart phone?

So checking out Newegg this morning and I see they have the Moto G5+ SE on sale for $230 shipped. I'm on Verizon and still using a LG Cosmos 2 so would this be a good upgrade and a decent smart phone for a first timer?

I would say yes, if this is your price range. You can't really do any better than the Moto g5 lineup for under $300. My only complaints about that model are microusb and no NFC. But considering the phone you're coming from, those probably don't matter to you. I currently use a Moto G4 and I'm reasonably happy with it.

Thanks for the feedback. I see that Amazon has the regular G5+ with more ram and storage space for $224. It has a .3 inch smaller screen but I think I can live with that. Looks like I'm getting a new phone.

Be careful on compatibility- just because the phone is unlocked, doesn't mean it will work on Verizon. I've been through this on a couple of phones... Also, a slightly used LG G6 can be had for about 250.00 and it is a much better phone that a Moto G5.
