Let's not stretch the truth too far. I was recently vacationed twice:
1) Posting a babe picture in an ATOT thread (my fault that I didn't read the sticky).
2) Creating a new thread about a Gaza news story instead of posting it into the super-Gaza thread.
Out of control? Meh. Although according to the rah-rah-siss-boom-bah God Bless Our Troops car magnet crowd, I've had a target painted on me ever since we invaded Iraq. It's no secret I don't support our military actions in Iraq or the troops who facilitate them.
All the outrage really stems from the subject matter: US troops. Notice, for example, how theflyingpig declared his penchant for seeing the splattered bodies of dead Iraqis, and how nobody really cared (not even me...it's P&N, I usually laugh off comments I don't like). The mob regularly passes over comments calling for the eradication of Palestinians, Iranians, Pakistanis, Iraqis, etc. And there are many more instances of comments insensitive to the suffering of said people, again glossed over.
But God forbid I make an comment insensitive of our troops and the mob leaps into action with their fire and brimstone.

First, my status as a moderator doesn't reward me with anything. It's a voluntary position and I don't get special treatment from other mods. My moderator power is limited to my forum alone, and it's limited to basic edits (such as moving miscategorized threads). But if you want to mod my forum, be my guest; I'd happily transfer my title to you just so I wouldn't get all these baseless mod call-outs.
Although try to remember, next time you're posting in a thread about suicidal PTSD inflicted troops, be mindful of who you call "disturbed".

SFF/Notebooks isn't exactly a hotbed of activity. Some nameless person nominated me, I was the only name on the ballot, so it's quite unsurprising that I won. Again, if your criticism indicates you feel better suited for the job, I'm sure we can transfer my title to you without a problem.
