This is the OP. Can we get a lock and permaban, or at least a warning please? How does this qualify as discussion worthy? It's designed solely to inflame.

Check out any thread he's started in the past 6 months. It's usually an article, and then his one line of "input" that makes Hannity look like Al Gore. No reasonable discussion can or ever does branch from his threads.

I have no problem with the majority of articles he posts but no discussion can ever flow from them after he adds his two cents of psychotic banter. If he doesn't think schools should be named after Obama then simply say so and why. Saying that fifth graders will be required to simulate fellating the president is not conducive to engendering rational debate. It's merely flame bait. It's the definition of trolling.

Agreed - his "commentary" is usually nothing more than a one-line troll. If he can't follow the rules, he shouldn't be starting threads in P&N.

It's not just his OP's, just a general search on his posts shows that nearly every post he makes is nothing more than trolling. I know that P&N has some looser rules than other places, but this is ridiculous.

I like it. Both of them just hate constantly, neither of them really thinks about things. It's just a pair of trolls on opposite ends of the political spectrums.

Out of control? Meh. Although according to the rah-rah-siss-boom-bah God Bless Our Troops car magnet crowd, I've had a target painted on me ever since we invaded Iraq. It's no secret I don't support our military actions in Iraq or the troops who facilitate them.

All the outrage really stems from the subject matter: US troops. Notice, for example, how theflyingpig declared his penchant for seeing the splattered bodies of dead Iraqis, and how nobody really cared (not even me...it's P&N, I usually laugh off comments I don't like). The mob regularly passes over comments calling for the eradication of Palestinians, Iranians, Pakistanis, Iraqis, etc. And there are many more instances of comments insensitive to the suffering of said people, again glossed over.

But God forbid I make an comment insensitive of our troops and the mob leaps into action with their fire and brimstone.

First, my status as a moderator doesn't reward me with anything. It's a voluntary position and I don't get special treatment from other mods. My moderator power is limited to my forum alone, and it's limited to basic edits (such as moving miscategorized threads). But if you want to mod my forum, be my guest; I'd happily transfer my title to you just so I wouldn't get all these baseless mod call-outs.

Although try to remember, next time you're posting in a thread about suicidal PTSD inflicted troops, be mindful of who you call "disturbed".

SFF/Notebooks isn't exactly a hotbed of activity. Some nameless person nominated me, I was the only name on the ballot, so it's quite unsurprising that I won. Again, if your criticism indicates you feel better suited for the job, I'm sure we can transfer my title to you without a problem.

Well, I was trying to be fair and balanced, but I tend to agree with you.

I mean, I think jpeyton makes BOBDN look like he was captain of the debate club. Harvey at least I think loves our country as does Dave, demented as they are. jpeyton I think is a traitor who honestly despises not only our "military", but the individuals serving in it, and he'd have been hung by now if it was 100 years ago. But we're a country that tolerates all kinds of douchebags like jpeyton or Fred Phelps. The question is, are we a forum that does?

My answer is - yes we do. I wouldn't stop to piss on him if he were on fire, but I wouldn't ban him either.




OK, what does this have to do with the topic at hand? I am not leaving this open as a thread for flaming members and/or member callouts.
