Mother's Day this Sunday, What are doing/getting....

for your wife/mom/daughter (who's a mom) etc.?

I was planning on running to the flower shop to get my wife some flowers and taking them to her office today but my 5 yr old daughter decided to get sick and puke all over my living room so I'm stuck at home with her. Going to bbq for the wife and some other family members on Sunday. What are you guys doing?

can't go see her since transportation while I'm in this leg immobilizer is... problematic.

but I got her a bunch of books to get delivered on her Kindle.

I got the wife a 7-in-1 pressure cooker thing that she really wanted; it's her first Mother's Day, so she gets a proper gift (despite it being a bullshit holiday). My mother gets a combination birthday/Mother's Day gift, which is generally picked out by my wife because I'll be damned if I can figure out my mother's taste in anything. Tube socks or a CD of the Baha Men's Greatest Hits or an alternator-sized piece of veal or something.

Daughter, 7, told my wife we are taking her to breakfast. This is news to me.

lol. 😀

On the train now heading up for the weekend. Buying mom a bunch of flowers (of her choice) for the garden in front of the house. Grilling out Sunday - looks like good weather.

Shipping the wife and daughter off on the train to Chicago to visit the Art Museum. Son and I have a weekend baseball tournament up north.

Win-Win

Except for a few pieces of trim work, finished my mom's new living room and kitchen. For Mother's Day, I'll be starting the bathroom and bedroom.

Getting my mom a new fire extinguisher for the kitchen. Her request.

That is so random. PSA: Don't actually store it in the kitchen. If the kitchen is on fire, it might be hard to get to it. 😉

Probably going to get my mom a card with a Tim Horton's gift card or something. We'll probably go out for lunch or supper too.

Getting flowers, and a nice chocolate bar. Also, we're going to a local Indian food place. I'm still not sure if she likes going because she really likes it, or because I like going there. The food is really out of character, but I guess you never get too old to have new favorites. She sure tries to give that impression though :^D

I ought to go see my Grandma, the wife mostly manages care of her in assisted living since we rescued here from certain death at my brothers place a few years ago.

She is better than I, she goes and has lunch with here now and again, is a pretty good place actually and she seems happy there.

She much happier these days it seems, Mom died in a car wreck back in 1980 about 2 weeks before my graduation so it's moot.

Is just not too relevant for decades here I guess.

Mom is gonna replace my phone for Mother's Day. Hope every son gets cool presents for Mother's Day. Peace

Well given that this will be my dad's last mother's day my sister and I got my mom a nice diamond and aquamarine necklace for him to give her. Had to help him sign his name to the card 🙁 (family tradition that he would get her something too)

My sons and I are going to make her breakfast in bed(just an omelet, some toast and coffee), also got her a card and some beads for her necklace.

She usually comes into the store and picks out the flowers for her patio containers and hanging baskets for under the Maple tree. She will probably pick out some veggies for the garden too and maybe some shade perennials for the back beds.

Getting her an alarm clock. Her old one broke so she started using her cheapo cell phone's alarm feature. Then she lost that. (figures) so now I'm going to get her a new alarm clock. So she doesn't need me to set my alarm clock and call her on her landline to wake her up when she needs to get up early. It will be a gift to both of us.

Damn dude.Sorry to hear about that.

Got my wife two dozen roses and a bunch of cake making materials since she's started to become interested in that as a hobby. No plans for Mother's Day itself besides relaxing.

My mom is camping with my dad so won't see her but did send her flowers.
