Hi ,just wondering what people would recommend, im looking to buy a motherboard , i really want one that good for gaming as im mainly a pc gamer also i was looking to possibly get one that would support windows 8 when its out also it has to e able to use i7-9xx preferably also must accommodate space so i can attach between 3 to 4 fans as im going to build a custom case. im not looking to overclock or anything

all motherboards out now support windows 8 but i don't see why you want windows 8 as its not for pc gamers ? whats are your components

Of all components in a PC, the motherboard is probably the most central, so you are wise to start there, but you first need to determine how you plan to use your computer.

900 is just enough for a decent system assuming you already have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Add 250 if you need to get those things also. For a motherboard on the Intel side of things, I'd recommend an all around good performer that is SLI or X-fire capable at 8x/8x and has PCIE 3.0 slots for future upgrade ability. You'll also need a board that has at least one USB 3 front panel header. With that in mind, you can't help but get a board that is overclocking friendly. It just comes in the package.

I'd say stick with Asus or Gigabyte. They are my two favorite brands for motherboards.
