Motherboards you want reviewed

First

Lifer
As you've probably noticed, there haven't been a lot of motherboard reviews lately. Wesley has done a great job of picking up the slack in my absence from the site (school, argh 🙂), but the amount of interesting hardware to review (boards in particular) in the last couple months has been low. I've got boards like the ABIT AI7 (Guru overclocking technology plus 865PE chipset), the MAX3 (old news by now though), and much older boards that weren't really that interesting (655FX boards, etc.).

So, I'm here asking you guys what exactly you're interested in for board reviews. Any board in particular you want to learn about? Anything you wanted changed about our motherboard review format? Just feel like flaming us? 🙂 Include all that info in this thread.

Take care,

Evan

Evan, can you guys do a comparison review of the Abit AN7 and the NF7-S Rev 2.0? I'd like to see a performance comparison between the two in the worst way. A feature set comparison would be nice, too.

Thanks!

I second that. From my general browsing, it seems as though the AN7 isnt up to the good old standards of the NF7-S Rev 2.0.

Might be upgrading shortly so Id like to know whether an extra £5 or ~$10 is worth it.

I realize you can't evaluate just the board, but I'm certain many of us would like to see the type of comprehensive review this site is famous for done on the Shuttle XPC ST61G4 with ATI RS300 + IXP150 chipset.

I would be very interested in reading through a "budget" AMD 64 socket 754 shootout. Gigabyte has a nforce 3 board for 123 @ newegg, the ECS Sis board and others. Pairing this with the 3000+ 64 would get quite a few readers attention.

I've noticed your reviews in general have been about high end products. And overclocked memory. For people like me who are looking for good budget products. I'd apperciate more budget product reviews.

Soyo Nforce3 150 board (A-64)
Soyo AlI/AMD board (a-64)
Biostar Nforce3 150
Shuttle Nforce3 150
Biostar VIA A-64 board
FIC AU13 Max
FIC K8T800 (a-64)

Why motherboards? Look at the last speaker review! 2001!

I'd personally like to see...

Logitech Z-5300s 5.1s
Logitech Z-680s 5.1s

Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1s
Promedia GMX 5.1s

Creative Gigaworks S700 5.1s
Creative Inspire GD580 5.1s

Just a thought 🙂
