anyone no why this would be...... i have kingston hyperX 4 sticks of 256mb (2 dual channel kits) and for some reason on my asus a8v whenever i go into my bios and try to set my ram down to anything below 2:1 ratio (so i can overclock) i ussually dont post....... i do post when i have my ram set to 1:1 setting but if i play a game i lock up and my screen goes black then the game start playing agian. I would really like to hit 2.55 or higher on my 3000+ because i dont want my exos water cooler to go to waste
can anyone help me?

With 4 sticks of RAM, you'll seriously stress your memory controller. You might want to try swapping for 2x512 to see if you get better stability.

hmmmmmm so with 4 sticks i probably lose some stability in my overclocks.... so i should probably swap this out and get either 1 stick of 1024mb or 2 sticks of 512 (value works right?) and i should gain a lot more stability in my overclocks. Right now i can get 275 fsb running 2:1 ratio with 2.5-3-3-8 timmings and have perfect stability (prime95 torture test 9 hours), but i really would like to see how far i can take this board......
