Helping my dad upgrade his computer, this is his motherboard.

Award BIOS Type Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
Award BIOS Message AK79D-400 Max R1.04 Aug.18.2003 AOpen Inc.

His current video card is Geforce 5200fx
I'd like to know if I can use Geforce 9500 GT on this motherboard and if the performance gain is worth it.

He just got a new 22" monitor and the video card is struggling to be used at the monitor's native resolution, that is what prompted this upgrade.

The AOpen AK79D-400 Max R1.04 is an Nforce 2 Athlon XP board and it only has an AGP slot, You will need an AGP card not a PCI-E one to work in this board. If they make an AGP 9500GT it should work fine, any AGP 8x card should work fine.
