I have a ASUS P5Q Pro MB. I have recently did a clean install to upgrade the OS to Windows 7- 64 bit. I am presently re-installing programs and apps. I have noticed that I had three ASUS programs in my old Startup list which do not show now.
ASUS\AI Direct Link\AsShare.exe, ASUS\AI Direct Link\AsComd.exe - reg, and ASUS\AI Suite\AiN ap.exe.
Not only do I not know what these are, I don't even know how to check if I have them. (W7 Search does not show them). When I tried to look at the files on the support CD I got the notice: "Mother board support CD does not support this operating system. (WNT-6.1H_64_MCE)."
Everything is running great so far, but I feel as though I should do something about these missing? programs. I appreciate any suggestions.

Well, I'll try to answer yours, because no one's answering my post, so I know how no love feels:biggrin: Most of the time the software on the Cd is crap IMO. Asus bundles theirs with Direct Link, A bios updater, Ai Suite and like one more. To be honest, if you don't know what they are or what they do, are you missing them? Moreover, I believe any of them (and more) can be downloaded manually from Asus' website, so why do you need the disc?

Direct link, is basically like a networking tool to link two computers together. Do you have another system? The Bios updater can be done manually, so you don't *need* it. And AI Suite is an overclocking utility. If you are not OC'ing, or are going to OC via the Bios, you don't need this either. If they are like partially loaded or something and you want to remove these in W7, go to add/remove programs as you won't always see them in msconfig as I understand it. Hope that answers your question.
