Motherboard Selection Help

I know, I know... crazy newbie.

I've done more reading than I care to think of, and I keep getting mixed up. So I came here for some straight up answers.

I'm looking to build a new rig:
-APEVIA X-Cruiser ATX Mid Tower
-EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB
-OCZ GameXStream 700w PSU
-Intel Core 2 Quad Kentsfield 2.66GHz Processor
-Scythe Ninja w/Fan
-4x1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800 (PC2 6400)
-2x500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
-2 Lite-On DVD-Rom and DVD-RW w/Lightscribe
-Creative Soundcard (Fatality)

My problem is, I just don't know what mobo to get. The options are incredible, and I can't seem to find much info for quad-core processors. So, what I'm looking to do is run my rig, as is above, for a year or so, then add another GPU for an SLI setup when Vista is ready for it (if at all). I want to be able to OC.

What do you all recommend for me?

Thanks in advance all,

Signed,

I think there are a lot of MB around that you can choose from

I would say you can try the 680i chipset board such as the ASUS Striker Extreme OR the MSI P6N Diamond (comes with Integrated Creative X-Fi sound).

The 680i will support two 16x PCI Exp.

If you are going to use two GeForce 8800 Ultra, take note of your Power Supply.

Search around @ Zipzoomfly.com or Newegg.com

If you HAVE to have SLI then you're limited to only 2 chipsets 680i or 650i both have issues. I'd ditch the SLI and get a solid P35 board.
