Guess this is nothing unusual, but I just upgraded to an ip35 pro from the ib9 and am very impressed. I've tried some simple overclocking and I've been able to do 3.6 ghz at 1.4 V though I haven't really tested it for stability. The temps don't look very nice in that they stabilize at about 72 so I haven't tried pushing it further. I'm thinking I installed my tuniq tower wrong since at 1.4, the voltage should really only be at 1.33 or so since the vdroop is about .7 on this board. At least that's what CPUZ shows as the actual vcore.
Anyways what is the best method for installing the heatsink anyways? I like to spread the paste on the chip, but maybe I should just put a drop on the center and squish it.

Here is a start for your TIM placement. Go to Grayskys thread on how to overclock C2D and C2Q at the top of this forum and in there it will give you a plethora of info that will answer most of your questions. In there is where the link to your TIM question I just posted for you is located. I use this to refresh my memory. That being said, is all the time.
Also having a Tuniq, at those temps you just mentioned, should be lower. I would pull it and check your TIM and reinstall. BTW, what paste are you using?

So what was your highest stable OC on your P965 board? I'm assuming you couldn't hit 9x400?

highest OC I was able to do was 350 though it was really unstable no matter what voltage I tried. Above 350 I couldn't get into windows except once. Could do 333 stable at 1.33 volts though.
New board I haven't tried pushing it because of the temps, but it looks like I can go further. Since it is almost summer I wasn't sure if it was my ambient or the mounting which seems to make my readings higher than from the last board, but now I'm thinking too much thermal paste or I need a new AS5 tube. It looked kind of watery when I applied it this time.
