Motherboard/Ram QVL question

Will my G.Skill 2x1024MB DDR2 800 kit work with my P5W DH Deluxe motherboard for the initial boot. I've checked the QVL list and i don't see the memory on the list, but i've heard of people using them from newegg reviews.
