Is the Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-9 a decent motherboard? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128283

I will be gaming, general useage, some video encoding with it. I am making the switch to AMD (I should change my name to AMDman, but Intel can be intel like intelligence). You guys can also suggest the best bang for the buck processor as well. Unfortunitely, I do not know if I can afford a dual core processor, so stay away from those. Thanks!

I had the 754 version and I was not too happy with it. My CPU fan header was broken and it wouldnt overclock for beans. I have a solltek now that works wonderfully, but no extra features. I am ordering a DFI Lanparty to overclock my new 3800+x2. I paid $128 at newegg, so I might suggest that if you want to OC.

Overclocking can be apart of my best bang for the buck! Was also looking at the ASUS A8N-E and the good DFI overclocker, I forget the model. Appreciate the feedback!

Here is the DFI Lanparty that I bought. It has 2 PCIeX slots, but it does not have SLI. That costs more. But for a budget board that will overclock really well, it looks good to me.

Not to thread crap, but I've been looking at this board as well. Does anyone have any opinions if the MSI a better choice if you want raid 5 or the gigabyte just as good?

Woo conflicting results never the lesss thanks for the choices, I gusss I will not be getting the gigabyte, never much used Epox or heard of them.
