motherboard problem

ok i got a problem with my new motherboard, when i go and install it, it starts up, but like all it does is tries to read from the cdrom, and on my screen is just blank and the little light on the monitor is yellow
 
It could be any number of reasons and I cant begin to fathom which it may be. Just make sure you check all your connections a couple times. I would try to boot with bare minimum to. Take out everything but video card. Unplug the CDROM, HD and everything. If it posts plug the HD back in. If you get the same problems as before maybe try formatting the drive.
 
i tried it with bare escentials(sp), and still no post


and what will reformatting the hd do? since i tried to isntall this mobo, it hasnt did post yet
