Motherboard or PSU problem?

So my 6870 had been displaying corrupt images to my second monitor while gaming (sparkilng green pixels in pics and around text). I have a warranty (thank you microcenter), so I pulled the card and went to get a replacement. When I pulled the card I had a solid green light on the MB, pulled the power cable and it went away after a few seconds.

Come back from store, pop new 7850 in and nothing, no post no fans. Take a look in the case, check all the cables, and notice a weakly flickering light on the MB (not flashing).Pull the plug, replug and see weak flickering and then nada - no light. I can hear an electronic whine when I plug the PSU in.

Asus PB5-E and Enhance 600W PSU both date to late 2006. Any ideas?

Nevermind, I had some spare parts laying about. It is definitely the PSU, no go on a new motherboard.

Weird that it would go out right as I was switching video cards. Maybe that was causing the video corruption....
