MOTHERBOARD NOT STARING PLEASE HELP

I recently bought a Asus P4P800SE Motherboard. I installed it correctly and when i started it up. I have to press a key on the keyboard to wake it up then it will start booting but, all that happens is 3-4 rapid beeps then all I see is a blinking underscore. I read the manual and it said you have to wait 30 seconds because of the first time booting it up, the mobo has to collect all the data for a first start-up. It has been much more then 30 seconds and I have tried over 5 times. It is too late to call Tech Support. The manual tells me if something doesn't happen in 30 seconds to check jumpers.

Jumpers are all on default.


CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?!

Check the RAM's compatible, and installed correctly. Also check the onboard battery, and check all the cables are connected to power/reset buttons and to IDE and floppy controllers.

clear the cmos too

Reseat EVERYTHING.
