Does anyone know what the Sensor 3 is reading on MotherBoard Monitor with the K7V Dragon Plus. I know that Sensor 1 and 2 are the Mobo and Processor, but can't seem to figure out the 3rd sensor.

I have seen this sensor read from 12C up to 52C but don't know what it could be unless it is the PS.

FYI

Running Prime95 for the past 20 hours with settings at 144Mhz Bus and Crucial PC2100 CL2.5 @ CL2 - 2-6-2 has mobo temp from 22C to 27C and XP1600+ from 32C to 39C with Alpha PAL8045/Sunon 50cfm fan. And yes the 8045 does fit the Dragon Plus!

So I am ok with these temps. Just don't know what that 3rd sensor number could be????

Right - Mikewarrior2 - I am fine with the temps also.

The BIOS only shows the two temps which are the same as MBM5.

I just have never seen this third temp number and am just curious as to what it might be. May just be some error reading. ?????

I couldn't figure it out either. After some time thinking about it and messing with it, I began to think it was an erronous reading. The only thing I could think of was a case temp but the readings didn't make sense. I just turned off that reading and left it with just chipset and cpu temps.

[edit]
Oh, and the bios only reads 2 temps so that strengthens my argument that this is an erronous reading. I built the machine with the Dragon for my brother last week and shipped it to him so I can't play with it anymore though.

Just installed Sandra Pro update and it shows three temps, so maybe this is it.

Board Temperature
CPU Temperature
Power / Aux Temperature

The CPU and Board Temps are backwards however in Sandra. I double that my CPU temp is 24C and my Board temp is 34C with the Power/Aux temp @ 31C.

Running Prime95 for about 30min and checking both MBM5 and Sandra shows the Board @25C, CPU @37C and Power @40C.

The BIOS confirms the Board and CPU temps, so there you have it. The sensor 3 for the Soyo Dragon Plus is the P/S temp reading at least for the Antec SX840 with the PP412X 400w P/S. Must be getting the temp reading from the Power Connector on the MotherBoard since the only other connection from the P/S is the Fan Sensor wire.

Just FYI in case anyone is interested!!

Not a bad guess, but speculative.

I've never heard of a thermistor in the PSU. Do most have that and this feature is not utilized by most other boards?

Can anyone confirm? I would think Soyo would list this in the bios if thats what they were doing.
