motherboard monitor not detecting 3rd fan; WHY????

Maverick2002

i downloaded motherboard monitor beta5 and it works fine except for 2 things:
1) it wont detect my 3rd fan (i just got an 80mm Sunon intake, if that makes any difference)
2) it wont detect my cpu/system temperature(s), but my VIA hardware monitor is fine

wtf? help? plz? ok? THX 🙂

Well umm, it's a Beta release. Those are some issues that may need to be adressed, along with
any others that appear, before it beomes Final. I read that the guy who is writing MM almost quit working on it,(or did) but due to popular demand and the response he got, he decided to
try and finish it.

Use the VIA hardware monitor untill MM is fixed.

ok i still use via monitor, but i only gives stats on system (exhaust) and cpu fan

im not sure if sunon has it, but i would assume so since i think my cpu fan is sunon

If it's not a 3 wire fan that plugs into a mobo fan header, it's not an RPM sensing fan. If it is, make sure that the sensor for fan 3 is enabled in the hardware monitoring section of the BIOS. Otherwise Motherboard Monitor has no way of knowing the fan exists.

ugh............just tried, there is no section (unless im blind) in my bios that allows me to set the mamaboard to recognize the 3rd fan.........so what do i do?
btw, its a 3 pin

Although there are 3 or 4 fan headers on this board (can't remember), the VIA monitor can only monitor 2 or 3 (can't remember). So even if your fan has the RPM sensor, the mainboard can't monitor it. It's not MBM fault. It's a mainboard/chipset limitation.
