Motherboard/Monitor Issue

My motherboard doesn't have a VGA port OR a DVI port?

I'm building my first computer and had narrowed down my motherboard choices when I noticed that they didn't have VGA, DVI, or HDMI (not that I wanted HDMI) ports. I've googled and can't find any explanation as to why this is. How am I supposed to connect my monitor to my computer if there are no video ports at all?

My monitor has a VGA connection to my current computer. Is there some sort of adapter that will remedy this if I get one of the motherboards that I want or should I just look for a motherboard that has a VGA port? Looking at the reviews from people who bought any of the motherboards I looked at, none of them mentioned monitor troubles so if this is an obvious solution sorry.

If you don't have on board video in your mobo, you need to install a video card. Most new mobos have on board video unless you are looking at the bottom of the food chain. What's your budget for the mobo?

I was trying to get one for around $100 or so. I was looking at AMD models primarily.

Here are a few that I was looking at: ASRock 970 EXTREME3 ASUS M5A97 ASRock 970 EXTREME4

None of these have video. Although there are some intel boards in the same price range that do. Still, I've been leaning towards AMD. Advice? Should I just get a video card along with one of these mobos, or look for a different AMD mobo that comes with VGA/DVI? (and if I did, I'd still need to buy a graphics card anyways if the motherboard didn't have an onboard chipset right?)

I don't think you'll find onboard video in a Bulldozer motherboard. If you want to go AMD and not have to buy a separate video card, you'll have to get a Llano system (A6, A8 series).

(Almost said Lando system there)
