Motherboard Memory advice wanted.

I am putting together a new system. Here are the parts that I have tentatively decided to go with.

Antec 660 Plus case w/330 watt true power supply
P4 3.06 GB processor
HP 300XI DVD Burner
Seagate Cheetah SCSI drives 2 36.7 GB versions
Adaptec 39160 SCSI card
2 additional 80 mm fans.
ATI Radeon 9700 PRO
1 Gig of memory - what kind do you guys recommend.

Which motherboard would be best to get. Either on-board sound and LAN or I just re-use my existing Diamond Monster MX300 sound card and my current Linksys ethernet card.

So is the Asus 845 P4PE still a really good board? Will the P4 3.06 work on this one?

ASUS P4PE is still nice board and will work with the 3.06. I doesn't do the dual channel DDR though.
