Motherboard issue (system locking up during games)?

I'm currently running an Abit KG-7 RAID, Athlon XP 1700+, 512 DDR, Win XP Home, ATI 8500DV AIW, Soundblaster Live, etc. Up until recently, it ran great. However, a few weeks ago it began locking up during games - Crt-Alt-Del did nothing, and the only way out was to reboot. At first it was just Rise of Nations which caused crashes, and other games ran fine, but now most every game locks up 5 minutes into gameplay. I've tried different drivers for the video card, a different v-card, different sound card, and new RAM, and nothing helps. It runs fine in Windows, however; I can surf the net, check e-mail, run Word, etc., for hours, with no issues. Could this be a motherboard issue? What else should I check? Thanks in advance for any help!!

What PSU do you`ve and what are your temps like?
Also make sure the SBLive and Video card are not on the same IRQ(look in system info).Try slower ram timings in BIOS as well, some more bios tweak settings won`t do no harm so disable video ram cacheable, disable fastwrites, disable all video shadowing, disable system bios cacheable.

Btw try Driver Cleaner from here .Install the latest AMD AGP driver from here.

Thanks for helping. I've got an Antec 400W PS, which I just installed over the weekend, based on a suspicion that my old generic 400W PS was the issue. The Antec PS is of course a nice addition to my rig, but it did nothing to solve the problem. I don't know what my temps are, but I don't think heat is an issue. I'm not overclocking anything, and I've got 5 fans in the case, along with the usual fans on the v-card and CPU heatsink. The Antec PS also has two fans. Finally, the case is in my basement, which is very cold. I checked for IRQ conflicts, but couldn't find any. I also tried lowering video hardware acceleration, but that didn't help.
