Motherboard for an XP?

I am getting an 2600-2800XP, and a Radeon 9800/Pro/XT.
Which motherboard would be the best choice for this setup? Do I need to upgrade my 300W supply?

How about an Abit NF7-S, it's a good overclocker and has the Soundstorm audio and Firewire. And it's earned a good reputation overall.

For the power supply, if it's an older one or a sort of cheapie brand, then you might be wise to upgrade to a quality brand and some additional wattage. An Enermax, Fortron or Antec in the 400W+ range would leave you some breathing room if you go and pile in a bunch of storage drives and a higher-end video card as time goes by.

Bigger picture: thought about an Athlon64 instead?

Yes, I thought about an Athlon64. I'd like to do a full-blown all-new rig (GF 6800/Radeon X) and 64bit CPU, but I don't have the funds for that right now, so I thought I'd turn it down a notch while still being quite future proof.

What do you think about that?
