Motherboard for AMD Athalon

I have built several Intel boxes for myself, and I have always used ASUS boards, but know I want to build an AMD machine and I need some imput on the best board to use for an Athalon 1G.

I too have been a long time Asus user. Current choice seems to be the Socket A, A7V. I am using K7M boards which are Slot "A", and have a 1 GHz Slot "A" Athlon in 1 system and a 1 GHz Slot "A" T-Bird in the other. Both are running at 1 GHz, however, the T-Bird tests better because of the on-die L2 cache.

As far as applications are concerned, there really is no perceptable difference. Don't bring up games . . . I wouldn't know . . . don't do games.

Anyway, changing from Athlon 750s to 1 GHz was pure PnP. Nothing needed to be changed anywhere.
