Motherboard dead?

My Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe 790FX worked fine for almost a month.
Suddenly the computer didn't start anymore and no blip sound either. I tested all the hardware on seperate boards, it turns out everything works except the board.
I can't test the CPU though, since it is AM2+.
Starting the board without CPU doesn't show the "no CPU detected" message either, so I suppose it is dead?

Try clearing cmos
If you are getting message cpu not detected - can't be MB - perhaps the cpu is dead (improper installation of HS?) - I doubt it though since modern cpus have built in thermal control to protect

Yes, I tried it, but without results, the motherboard still sees that it has power (green led), I don't get the "no cpu detected" message when I remove the CPU.

i am having a similar problem. from what you are saying, if the motherboard is good and the cpu is bad, i would get a 'no cpu detected' message. i get nothing, no post, no activity at all to the monitor. does that mean the mobo is bad?

fyi, i have an asus p5n sli
