Motherboard dead?? HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1one

Okay so here's the deal, my buddy has a 3.0C running on an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe bought brand new off newegg. When we got around to installing windows XP on his RAID-0 Raptor 36GB's, it gets to the point where it says "Setup is starting windows... Press 'Enter' to setup Windows....F3 to quit....or R to go into Recovery Console". And then...

It freezes. The keyboard LED goes off and the keyboard stops functioning. We've already tried using 3 different sets of RAID drivers thinking that might be the problem. Doesn't appear to be so. Also, we've tried removing all unneccesary cards/drives/etc. to no avail. We even swapped keyboards and that didn't work. So...

My instinct tells me that his board is dead? Perhaps? The hard drives are brand new and since it hasn't gotten to a point where data is being written to them, it seems unlikely that that's the problem.

Any help/advice would be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First off, what is the rest of your system???

Try pulling a stick of ram and see if that helps.

And it still could be the board, they can not be entirely dead but but still not work properly.
