motherboard + cpu

i'm putting together a file server.. it's going to eventually have 7 hdd's with lots of storage.

case: Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Series
power supply: Antec 550 Watt

the motherboard and cpu i'm unsure about.. i'm thinking about getting this.

and adding AMD XP 2200+ to it.. but i'm not sure rather i should go ahead and get the athlon64 2800. i'm going to be the only person pulling files from the fileserver.. and if getting the athlon64 is going to be to powerful then i'd rather just get the athlonxp since it's cheaper.

i haven't bought anything yet.. i'm still in the looking around mode.
 
If you will be pulling files through a weentsy little 100Mbit network connection then you don't need to worry too much about the CPU keeping up. The theoretical max throughput (one way) is 12.5 megabytes per second, and probably under 10MB/sec when you factor in overhead. The CPU's bus, by comparison, is running 2100 megabytes per second.
