Motherboard beeps, fans go into overdrive?

When I tried to turn on my computer today, all I got was a bunch of beeping and the fans would spin faster than I had ever heard them spin before.

I can't really tell if there is a pattern to the beeps; the sound of the fans sort of overpowers it after a while. It seems to be 2 long beeps; then 2 beeps closer together, then one more beep. Can't tell if it keeps repeating. The last beep is not as loud, and the noise of the fans ramping up doesn't help.

Both fans are spinning, although the CPU fan seems like its spinning much faster, while the power supply fan seems to be spinning normally.

I'm not a computer expert by any means, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turned out it was the memory. Did the old "eraser" trick to get rid of the built-up static and it was fine.

Thanks for the help.
