Hi. I decided to try to apply new thermal paste on my cpu and i disconnected everything to be moved to another case during my switch.

When i thought everything was done i started to boot up, which it did, however the screen remained black and it hit me that i had forgotten the atx 8 pin connector on my mobo. I connected it and now when i hit the power button, nothing is booting up. Fans are not rolling but there are lights on my mobo and soundcard so i assume that the components are still getting power. Anyone care to explain what may have happened? And how to fix this.

I've tried removing ram and swapping power cable withno luck.

UPDATE: I decided to give it another go and it would seem that without the 8 pin connector fans everything else will roll as usual but i'm not getting any signal as expected. With the 8 pin connected nothing will start. I tried a 4 pin instead and the system went and ran for a half second before everything turned black.

Thanks
