Whoa...

People in Tampa are beating each other up over things as small as a gallon of milk!

Just got off the phone w/a friend of mine and people are lining up at gas pumps. He was talking to his brother who lives down there and he was saying people are freaking out down there.

Wow.

Last update had a little good news (at least for those on mainland florida - bad news for the panhandle)

Link

In any case - T-Minus 21 hours and counting. Here I come Ivan!!

That's still bad news. Esp. considering hurricane-force winds will extend out maybe 100 miles from the eye. Tampa will get hit by some VERY strong winds and rain

Bayshore Boulevard will be history. Goodbye Davis Islands. My parents will have to cut their losses, leave their little beach cottage, and move in with my sister. My backyard is going to be underwater and I live 20 miles inland.

fvck, and I just got my power back yesterday too. Time to stock up

The only thing I need more of is alcohol. I'll pick some up tomorrow, while I am waiting for my daughter to get her haircut. Then I will come home, iron every item of clothing that needs to be ironed, cook all the meats in my freezer and then refreeze it (so all I have to do is defrost and eat), and think about how we can keep water out of our house if the floods get to us this time (which they very well might).

/me stares at his plane tickets for next saturday.

Flordia can't possibly have 3 in a row, can it???? Has that ever happened before?

I'm almost positive this is a dirty liberal conspiracy against neocons (namely me).

Well since by neocon standards, Jesus would of been extremely liberal/communist, it could be a heavenly-liberal-conspiracy. 😉

Ivan won't be harming Florida. I found the cure. I sent my wife and daughter to D.C. this a.m. on a Delta flight. It's just like washing your car on a bright sunny day....

Heh Chess... I know several families who have done the same thing. They've gone to Indiana, Maryland, Illinois... wherever they have family.

We are staying put. I have a feeling that we are going to have our ass hairs singed off, but that we won't be fully assaulted.

I just wish I could believe that this is just a fluke, and not a preview of things to come. 🙁

Ivan's BACK!

Ivan has reformed as a Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico!

Didn't get a drop of rain from it when it was just to the east of us here across the Mississipi/Alabama border, now we're getting a bunch of rain from it.
