I was just wondering your thoughts.....
or is this a case of the mom being overly sensitive?
How many of us knew what Bootie was in high school?? I bet all of us knew!!

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
A Charlotte mother is expressing concern after a class assignment she considers offensive was given to high school students. Some say it has racial undertones.

“I was completely stunned,” the mother said. “This is not appropriate language at all for the children in the school.”

The question was from a test on genetics.

"LaShamanda has a heterozygous big bootie, the dominant trait. Her man Fontavius has a small bootie which is recessive. They get married and have a baby named LaPrincess" the biology assignment prompts students.

The assignment then continues to ask, "What is the probability that LaPrincess will inherit her mama's big bootie?"

etc.....

Sounds like the shitty quality of the class and/or entire school might be the larger concern.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. Also, in the context of butt it's spelled "booty", a "bootie" is a baby's shoe.

Yes but would multiple butts be bootys or booties?

Perhaps it should be spelled bootay, plural bootays so that there's no confusion.

I agree with the mother that the assignment was inappropriate. Any teacher who thought such an assignment was appropriate or funny doesn't display the adequate good decision making requisite for being a teacher.

There are better ways to incorporate humor into school questions without being offensive.

and to answer the question in the OP, the daughter will ALWAYS inherent the mother's big butt.

I'm pretty sure the parent is less concerned about the word "bootie" than they are about the fact that the way the teacher chose to present this assignment was tacky and inappropriate.

LOL at the "get married and then have a baby"!

Seriously tho, this is completely unprofessional and inappropriate. Someone needs to be smacked in the head.
