Mother Board PROBLEM???

How do you tell if your mobo (Asus A8N-e) is bad.

My computer will not start. All other components have checked out OK. When I turn it on the fans will start spinning and the optical drive lights blink for a few seconds then nothing else happens.

Tried reseating the gfx card? Maybe it doesn't make good contact on it's slot. Same goes for the memory sticks. Also try booting with only cpu, gfx card and one memory stick.

On another topic like yours here, the guy had the same problem with you and the problem was he didn't connect the 4 pin 12V connector which is located on the top left of the mobo near the cpu. Check to make sure you have connected it.

What type of RAM are you using? mine wouldn't post, when I had a bad stick of corsair VS. Mine would do the same thing, all the fans would power on, and the optical drive would power up, but no post, nothing.. Switch out the ram, its very picky about what type of ram it will work with... Also if you have an internal speaker hook it up, if its a single long beep, that repeats its the ram.
