I spent around $1200 for a pair of ear rings. I'd like to go the house route next, but she wont let me.

Well, when I was loaded (made 78k a year when I was 18.. sigh, I should have saved the money) I bought her some pretty expensive gifts.. A panasonic tv/reaplytv combo ($500), a dv camcorder ($600 bucks).. A bunch of electronics actually (she's a technophobe to a degree - the type that's afraid to try something but then adores it when she does)... The most expensive night we've had was probably $400 (NYC has some expensive restaurants).. Now that I'm unemployed we usually eat at boston market (and she pays for me 1/2 the time) and the last b-day gift I got her was $20-something bucks.. But, honestly, i think that she'll wear that cheap skirt that I got her far more than she'll ever use the MP3 player or camcorder..

Most expensive items are plane tickets, concert tickets, a car amplifier, trip the spa, and of course for my current gf, a $300 saphire and diamond ring from Zales. (more saphires than diamonds)

£110 total for the years before Valentines day present. Took her to Londons Savoy restaurant. She was most impressed:D and so were her sisters.

Still together with the same girl. Last year she wanted to take me out to Valentines day and arrange it all. We ended not doing what she wanted as we just wanted to say in together. I think she'll plan something next year for us.

The dates we have been on didn't cost much compared to some of you guys. Probably about £30-£50 tops. Hang out, go to a movie, meal, hang out some more. Just depends what we do that day. Funny thing is that she wouldn't let me pay for anything also..........

Hm, on a single thing... I spent about $150 one night for a guy I dated. Threw a LAN party (in the computer lab at his high school) paid for pizza, etc, plus transportation for some of his best friends to make it to the party from way out of town.

[edit] I should add that, aside from prom, where I still had a bit higher of an expenditure, I think, he didn't ever spend more than that (or as much as that, I think) on me. I'm not much of a materialist, so I didn't expact gifts and stuff.

~$3 for a card once; maybe if anyone had ever wanted to date me, that'd be a bit higher.

You must have a pretty good job. :)
That's almost half of my gross pay for a year.

I bought my gf a Playstation 2 when they came out, I didn't even have one for myself, and 2 games. So that's roughly 400 dollars... A year later I found out she pawned it to get money to buy cocaine though. :disgust: :Q :| :( :brokenheart: :disgust:

So far after 22+ years of marriage, I'd say I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars on her. ;)

wow, I am really happy for you two! :)

man, don't get me started...over the 2.5 years with my ex, I "calculated" (educated guess) afterwards that I spent about $7500 on her. And this is from just working in the summer and having small bits of money come in here and there...

Yes, the time spent was good, but now what do I have to show for all that money ;)
