you just beat me to it.

it wasn't so much outright gross, it was that i was not expecting the flesh to come off the soldier's legs when the guy tried to help him. it was a shock the first time i saw it.

Omaha Beach in Saving Private Ryan. What a fantastic movie. The part I remember best is when the guy gets hit in the helmet and he takes it off and looks at the spot where the bullet hit the helmet in amazement then takes one to the head.

the scene in the jackal where bruce willis uses that chain gun that he just purchased. He tells the guy to hold an apple and he wants to shoot it out of his hand. he then blows the guys arm off and makes him run like a little bitch while he takes shots at him and basically shoots him to pieces.

ugh, that just got to me.

Opening scene in Ghost Ship is pretty bad...something like 50 people get sliced in half, you see people's arms moving around, people trying to pull their legs back onto their torso's, half a guy's head slide off the rest of it. Nice stuff.

Texas Chainaw Massacre, when the guy is yelling for his friend at the door of the house, decides to get daring and run in. Then Leatherface rounds the corner right in front of the guy. He drops down and trips over the door lying kicked loose on the floor. There's a few seconds pause as they eye each other up, then Leatherface takes a mighty swing with his hammer and just -=CRUNCHHHESS=- the guys skull in. He takes a few more swings until the guys head is a pulpy mess, then drags him in the back. The sound FX are just gruesome as you hear the hammer breaking skullplate.


Freaking ... ICKKK.

Not saying this is the most violent, but nobody mentioned Starship Troopers. It wasn't just the gore, which were plentiful, it was the entire concept of the "giant killer bugs" which add a whole new level of creepiness to it. Also, the way they treated the violence was kinda non-chalant, as if it wasn't out of the ordinary.

It was just kinda jarring if you weren't expecting it.

Something from Pulp Fiction maybe......or wait, Reservoir Dogs. My roommate last semester said I had to see some Quentin Tarantino movies, like they were the best thing ever created. They were enlightening - I now believe that Mr. Tarantino has some serious mental problems.

The part where Pyramid Head picks that girl up, rips off her clothes, grabs the skin on her chest and rips it off! Then he throws the skin at the main characters! I literally screamed "WTF!!!!" outloud in a crowded theater. Most disturbing and unexpected moment in movie history for me. And I think the audience that day could agree with me. I wasn't the only one screaming choice words.

Not the most "violent", but certainly the most disturbing, was the scene in Heavenly Creatures where they kill her mom. It's just horrible....much more tramautic than Saving Private Ryan or Braveheart or Reservoir Dogs or anything.
