Most underrated movie of 2003

The Station Agent or The Singing Detective...they were both really good in their own respect, and have received very minimal press, despite possibly being up for a few Oscar noms. The Station Agent just had a good solid story, with an excellent cast...character driven, but each person pulled their own weight. The Singing Detective was all Robert Downey Jr., and he was awesome...Mel Gibson and Katie Holmes had interesting parts, but nothing huge. Just an interesting (albeit wacko) movie.

No, absolutely not. I'm not one that's all too picky about movies but this one did not deserve the hype it got. It was so long and drawn out (dare I say, boring) that I could barely make it through the whole thing without falling asleep. Bloody English need to learn how to make a horror movie.

Yep, totally agree with this.

Conflicting reports on movies are expected. I'm not much for the english movies (mainly their comedy sucks). but this one I thought would be good. I'm going to try to watch it again and give my report.

EDIT: I can't complain if I didn't watch the whole movie (I Guess)

See, that's the thing though, from the English movies I've seen I ususally end up liking them but not this one. Even though it's a completely different genre I love Monty Python so it's not like I was going into this movie thinking "Alright, let's see what kind of horror movie you chaps are capable in pulling off". I was looking forward to this movie but for me it was a total disappointment.

On the flip side of the coin though I had no hopes whatsoever for Signs but I absolutely loved it. I had grown a small resentment for M. Night Shyamalan 'cause I thought The Sixth Sense sucked (mainly 'cause I had the ending ruined for me) and I thought Unbreakable could have been infinately better. I went into the movie expecting it to be a let down like his other 2 movies, but I thought it was awesome.

The Monty Python series is an exception to English comedy in my opinion. I did like most of those.
