OK...

What band do you think is awesome but doesn't get the respect and attention they deserve?

My choice:

Collective Soul

Thin Lizzy. Best Irish band ever.

In reference to the Suicide Thread:

"The paper called it Suicide...
...a bullet from a .45.
Nobody cared, nobody cried...
...don't that make you feel sad."

Suicide (Thin Lizzy)

Time for bed soon, 'night all.

Pop Will Eat Itself.

They were one of the originators of the Hard Rock / Hip Hop fusion that is now used by Limp Bizkit, Korn, Incubus, etc.

Chemical Brothers. Their Dig Your Own Hole album was unbelievebly fantastic, but they didn't gain much recognition. They were one of the first british techno bands to gain popularity in the US (their songs released from Dig Your Own Hole gained a small bit of popularity), but ask most people who they are and they give you a blank stare.

Creed got way to much attention in my opinion. I gotta give you Bush though, they are one of my favorite bands.

They did zippy? I'll have to check out that album. The Beastie Boys rock so that should be a good combination :)

I was going to say Morcheeba and Underworld but they're known in Europe so I dunno if that counts

Then I thought about Tool but they're just not commercial so radio rarely plays 'em but quite a few people know and respect them so there went that.

The Dust Brothers paved the way for many but I've rarely heard them mentioned anywhere (Fight Club Soundtrack was excellent)

Soul Coughing gets my vote as well...

Opeth, a Swedish metal band. Zero radio play, virtually zero exposure in magazines, etc (with the exception of a few metal magazines).

heh. I like the Beastie Boys, but I don't follow them enough to know naything about them... I just love songs and such with lyrics that make no sense, like the Beastie Boys. I absolutley love, LOVE, the song Body Movin'. However the original version is much too slow, the Fatboy Slim remix is much much better :)

hehe i love body movin...

"Let me get some action from the back section
We need body rocking not perfection
Let your back bone flip but don't slip a disc
Let your spine unwind just take a risk
I wanna do the freak until the break of dawn
Tell me party people is that so wrong....."

hehe great stuff :)
