MOst underrated band of all time

From that era, The Mamas and the Papas and The Lovin' Spoonful. From the modern era (and more metal/hard rock) Darkest Hour, August Burns Red, Coheed and Cambria, Opeth, In Flames, Parkway Drive to name a few.

Rotting Christ
Dying Fetus

Questionable band names, some great albums. I imagine the names alone keep a fair amount of people from even considering a listen.

The Tubes

I may be biased but I totally agree. I was a young kid at the time, but my brother (and my sister and other brother to some extent) were OBSESSED with the Tubes in the 80s. I could sing you every song word for word from pretty much all their albums. It was pretty much all I heard growing up.

The Pixies

I'd say they are pretty "rated" and anyone who knows anything about music knows about The Pixies.

My 80s Tubes story. I went to see them at merriweather post pavilion and Todd Rundgren warmed up for them. So many people came to see Todd and then seemed a bit turned off by the theatrical show the Tubes put on. I have nothing against him, but it kindo ruined one of the most over the top shows I've ever seen.

LOL yeah - I watched a lot of VHS tapes my brother had of Tubes shows. They were CRAZY. It was just a huge production.
