I have Sony, Plextor, TEAC burners, and did own a Lite-ON.
I mostly use for data, and readability and accuracy is my concern. I returned the Lite-On after it burned a few files that had errors. The same files were burned and read by the TEAC without errors.
Also the Lite-On had trouble reading files burned by other burners. Not so with the TEAC, Sony, Plextor.
I prefer the TEAC for its speed and accuracy.
The Sony (mfg by Sony), Plextor are also good. Lite-On I would rate last of these for what I need.
