Personally I go with EVGA for nV and XFX for AMD.

I prefer companies who have RMA centers in the US, and lifetime warranties.

Lifetime warranties!! Yikes!

I'm surprized that's not "Common Knowledge" .

what do you mean reliable manufactures. ATI and Nvidia build the cards and ship them to the vendors who put the cooling on and slap a sticker on it for the reference cards. For non Reference MSI and Asus all the way.

You sure ? I always thought ATI/NV sent the "GPU's" to the AIB's. Then they used their own pcb etc: Which is why there is a lot of different color pcb's.

Clarification ?

The easy way to tell on both AMD and Nvidia is to look just above the pci-e connector if you see AMD or Nvidia it's a ref design card. Pretty much like said above it's the sticker most of the time that brands them XFX, Evga, etc....See photos

Edited: AMD and Nvidia also do send just the GPU's to AIB's to make their own desinged cards. So I guess your also correct in your statement.

Disclaimer: Size of photos don't show any pref towards either AMD or Nvidia just the first two I found that would link with similar size images :)

EVGA for NVIDIA and XFX for ATI are my top choices. However, I've had good luck with MSI cards as well. I've had underwhelming experiences with Gigabyte (slow RMA turnaround time) and Zotac (notably higher failure rates and poor RMA process).

Avoid Palit like the plague!

I've never had a problem with my Evga, Asus, or MSI cards.

What's wrong with Palit? They own Gainward which is the Cadillac of the video card world. Not to mention if you want the best (gaming) GPU setup money can buy then you need to go with Palit (4xGTX 580 3GB edition)

Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me....But isn't that a triple slot card? What MB could you put 4 of those in? If you smash them all together thats 12 slots!

It's a hair over 2 and should fit together. however im not fully sure, that is the Gainward version the "phantom" line NOT the Palit version.

Both are 3GB GTX 580's, sadly Gainward is not currently in the US market (Palit is instead)

Actually it is, though not all EVGA products have them any more.

EVGA also warranties even if you switch heatsinks, and XFX has the "double" which means you can transfer your card once and keep warranty.
